Help set the Neath Port Talbot Council budget for 2024-25!
We are consulting on our draft budget proposals for 2024-25 and beyond, to close the Council's estimated budget gap. Just like households, the cost-of-living crisis, soaring energy costs and inflation is having a big impact on the council’s budget. With around £30m in new cost pressures and only an estimated £8m extra from Welsh Government next year, the council hopes to deliver a balanced budget with no significant cuts to services and no substantial staff job losses. The consultation will run until Wednesday 10 January 2024. Read our proposals and have your say here or email your suggestions to nptbudget@npt.gov.uk
Great to see Michael Sheen in Port Talbot this week talking about how important places like local libraries are, acting as warm spaces during the current cost-of-living crisis.
The BBC filmed their BBC Breakfast show live from Port Talbot Library, one of the 49 registered warm spaces in Neath Port Talbot.
Warm spaces are public places and buildings which people can use to keep warm during the winter. Each warm space offers a range of services which could include things such as Wi-Fi access, toilet facilities and activities, and refreshments.
