We want to hear from local children and young people about their views on play opportunities and activities outside of school 🛝🎾⚽🛹
This could include their views on indoor and outdoor activities such as sports clubs, youth clubs, green spaces, sport pitches, skate parks, playgrounds and any other places children and young people go in their spare time.
This will help us to understand which play spaces and opportunities are working well and what improvements are needed to be made.
To do this, we are asking parents and carers to help their children complete a short survey:
Survey 2 – for children and young people aged 8 – 11 years:
Survey 3 – for young people who are at secondary school or college:
Plus, there is a prize draw with a chance to win amazon vouchers for those who complete the survey!
We would really welcome any young person’s thoughts and feedback about their play opportunities and activities before Friday 24th January, 2025.
If you have any questions about this important survey, please contact Matthew Jenkins, our Play Sufficiency Lead at: M.Jenkins2@npt.gov.uk
Have Your Say
The Council would welcome your views on the Replacement Local Development Plan (RLDP) Preferred Strategy and give you the opportunity to have your say on the future of Neath Port Talbot 📢🗺️
The RLDP (2023-2038) will allocate land for homes, employment and protect the unique environment of NPT. The RLDP will, upon adoption, replace the current adopted LDP and be the basis for land use planning decisions.
An 8-week consultation is now live between midday Thursday 12th December 2024 and midday Thursday 6th February 2025.
How to comment on the Preferred Strategy:
🖥 Online - using the LDP Consultation Portal. The Council would encourage all responses on the Preferred Strategy to be made this way.
📧 Email - Using a comment form available on our website. Forms can be emailed to us at ldp@npt.gov.uk.
✉️ Post - The comment form can be printed. Please post any comment forms to us at: Planning Policy, The Quays, Brunel Way, Neath SA11 2GG

The council is offering the opportunity to third sector organisations to apply for 12 months funding to deliver activities, community projects or cover core costs.
The total amount available is £239,000. Organisations are asked to be mindful of the amount they will be applying for (as the total amount will need to be spread across several organisations that are successful).
The closing date for applications is Friday 24th January 2025.
