Whether it’s an individual or a group, we want to hear about the unsung heroes from across Neath Port Talbot from a range of different backgrounds. 
 
Once again, the awards will recognise unsung heroes from across NPT who make a real difference to our communities. 
 
Kindly supported by Tata Steel UK & Trade Centre Wales, the event takes place at The Orangery, Margam Park on Friday April 17, 2026. 
 
Nominations close midday on Wednesday March 25, 2026. So, if you know an individual or community group that deserves to be recognised, nominate them today

Have Your Say – Sandfields Active Travel & Public Space Improvements

We’re asking residents and visitors to share their views on proposed improvements to walking, wheeling and cycling routes across Sandfields and the Aberavon seafront area.

The project also supports wider seafront regeneration plans, including exciting upgrades around Memo Beach Café, the area next to Skate Park, and the approach to Tywyn Primary School.

Record investment in schools as Cabinet considers budget proposals

Neath Port Talbot Council’s proposed budget for 2026/27 is set to deliver a record level of investment in schools and protect vital front‑line services at a time of continuing financial pressures.

If approved, the £428 million budget would support essential day‑to‑day services, from maintaining roads and educating thousands of children to caring for vulnerable people and collecting household waste, while keeping the council tax increase among the lowest in Wales.

Transforming Town Centres in Neath Port Talbot! 

The Welsh Government’s Placemaking Grant is still open for projects that will help make our town centres greener, more vibrant, and thriving spaces.

Funding is available for projects in: Port Talbot, Briton Ferry, Neath, Pontardawe, Glynneath & Ystalyfera.

The grant can support:

  • Commercial property improvements
  • Conversions to residential units
  • Green infrastructure
  • Active travel enhancements
All supported projects must be delivered by December 2026.
