COVID-19: Supporting your blind and partially sighted customers
As we begin to move out of lockdown, the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) has created a guide for businesses to dramatically improve their experience for blind and partially sighted customers.
The guide provides practical tips and guidance on how to make your business accessible for people with perfect sight (or ‘20/20 vision’) and those who see darkness, and for people who see nothing at all.
South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils have teamed up with Makespace Oxford to launch a new £1.7m project that will revitalise vacant shops across Oxfordshire.
Named ‘Meanwhile in Oxfordshire…’, the project aims to transform boarded up streets and empty shops into vibrant places for artists, makers, independent retailers and purpose-driven community organisations. Some buildings will form community hubs, bringing together a range of organisations spanning different sectors all under one roof.
Makespace Oxford are keen to speak to landlords and possible occupiers of vacant high street retail units across the town centres in South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve been receiving a number of enquiries from those wanting to start their own business.
To help, we’ve partnered up with the Start Your Own Business team to create a free local guide for businesses based in South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse.
The guide includes:
A clear step-by-step process, with tips on tax and accountancy, funding, finding customers, social media, employing staff and more
