- Team SVBS
On 21 December 2021, the Government announced the introduction of a one-off grant support scheme for hospitality and leisure businesses in England.

We are pleased to announce that the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant (OHLG) scheme is now open for applications from eligible businesses.

The grants are open to businesses offering in-person services, where the main service (50% or more of overall income) and activity takes place in a fixed rate-paying premises, in the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors.

Eligible businesses must have been in occupation and trading from a rated property on
30 December 2021 to apply for the grant. The amount awarded will depend on the rateable value of the property, as follows:

  • rateable value of exactly £15,000 or under - £2,667
  • rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000 - £4,000
  • rateable value of exactly £51,000 or over - £6,000
Please note that the deadline for applying is 18 February at midday.

To find out more about this grant scheme, and to apply, please take a look at our dedicated webpage.

The Government's 21 December announcement included details of top-up funding for the Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) to be aimed at supporting businesses that are not eligible to claim the OHLG scheme.

ARG top-up funding in South and Vale is complex to administer as it closely follows the closure of our Winter Support Grant scheme and our resources are limited at this time.

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we assess the best options to ensure that further ARG funding can be made available as soon as possible.
We hope to confirm our plans for this funding shortly, and will continue to provide progress updates via the SVBS newsletter.

How to attract and keep the right talent in a tough climate

76% of business leaders say attracting quality candidates is their number one challenge. This will only get harder in January, when it’s estimated nearly one in four people look for a new job.

Oxfordshire Greentech, SYLO Beyond HR and Priddey Marketing are hosting a free event for anyone who is currently going through the recruitment process or looking to recruit as part of their growth plans, in what is an increasingly candidate driven job market.

Date and time:
Thursday 20 January
10:00 - 11:30
