Welcome to the latest edition of the SVBS newsletter.

This week, we're focusing on our ShopAppy free online marketplace for South and Vale based businesses, and we're also calling for help with the Councils' Ride Revolution project. Further details can be found below.

We're also highlighting our next Networking in... with South and Vale event, where we'll be welcoming Harold Floyd to talk about 'The Manopause'. Plus, come along to our Natural Netwalking event in Faringdon!

There are lots more opportunities, events and resources to get stuck into this week, but as always, if you'd like to suggest content for the SVBS newsletter, please get in touch with us.

Register for our free online marketplace for South and Vale businesses

We’ve partnered with ShopAppy to pilot an online marketplace for independent High Street businesses located in South and Vale.

The platform will be free for the area’s businesses to access over the first 12 months of the scheme (excluding bank / card charges). Businesses will need to allocate just 20 minutes a week to managing their profile.

If you're interested in our new online marketplace, you can find further information and how to register on our website.
Ride Revolution – could your business help?

Ride Revolution is a new project that takes in unwanted bikes from people, rather than them going to landfill and recycle centres, to be restored or repaired by the community.

The refurbished bikes are then given to individuals from disadvantaged families in South and Vale, to help them get out and keep active whilst also giving them the knowledge and confidence to ride safely and keep their bike in good working order.

The Active Communities team at South and Vale District Councils are looking for businesses who can provide space to store donated bikes before they are moved on to our restoration workshop.

If you can help, please reach out to our Active Communities team.
“The Manopause – ways to cope with the midlife crisis"

What is a midlife crisis, and why is it we mainly associate it with men?

Join us at Networking in... South & Vale as we welcome Harold Floyd, Elite Force Safety Lead Instructor, to talk about how men can help themselves and how ladies can support them.

Wednesday 1 June   |   09:30 - 11:00

The first 40 businesses to register for this event can claim a half-price ticket for just £5, using the code 'SVBS'.

Register for the event on the Networking in... website.
Natural Netwalking in Faringdon

We're inviting local businesses to join us for the second in a series of Netwalks, showcasing the market town of Faringdon and its picturesque surroundings.

Tuesday 21 June    |    10:00 - 12:00

Working in partnership with our Active Communities team and Natural Netwalking, the walks are a healthy and safe alternative to traditional business networking events and a great way to be active and escape from virtual meetings.

After the walk, refreshments will be available at The Old Crown Coaching Inn, located in the marketplace.

Register for your place via Eventbrite.
