Selling to the councils - register for the
South East Business Portal

The councils buy goods and services from a variety of contractors, ranging from someone who is self-employed to national organisations. To provide cost-effective services for our residents, the councils often operate a joint procurement process, and therefore award joint contracts.

Opportunities to supply your services or goods to the councils are often available, either direct or as a sub-contractor.

If you are interested in selling to the councils, you will need to register on the South East Business Portal. Please note that contracts for both councils can be located under 'South Oxfordshire District Council'.

Further information can be found on our dedicated webpage.
Apply for UKSPF funding

South and Vale organisations can now apply for up to £50,000 in funding under our UKSPF E22 intervention: Enterprise Infrastructure & Employment / Innovation business support.

Funding is available for an organisation to set up and deliver an enterprise support programme that will unlock enterprise skills within the districts, reduce social isolation and improve employment opportunities in areas of deprivation.

The programme will offer a range of specialist support, including expert advice and guidance, which helps residents to consider self-employment opportunities and provides them with a route to start or grow a business. This should include sole traders providing services to the local area, social enterprises and co-ops that benefit the local community, and opportunities for individuals to develop enterprise skills in areas of deprivation that could lead to self-employment.

A focus of this procurement is to create purposeful businesses, including social enterprises and co-ops, that provide a benefit to communities in areas of multiple deprivation.

The application window is open until 5pm on Tuesday 27 August 2024. Apply via the South East Business Portal.
CODE RED – Oxfordshire Business Resilience Scheme

Have you thought about resilience and continuity planning for your business? Incidents such as floods, extreme temperatures, power outages and cyber-attacks can happen at any time, and could have significant implications if your business is not prepared.

The OxLEP team have recently introduced a new service for Oxfordshire businesses, called the CODE RED – Oxfordshire Business Resilience Scheme.

The scheme is open to all businesses and will provide you with information and advice via occasional SMS messages. The aim is to support you to be more resilient for emergencies and also for changes in the climate, by helping you to plan, prepare, be ready and adapt, so that any risk and impact on your business is minimised.

Sign-up for the service via OxLEP's website.
