Wow another busy year.  A few records have been broken recently – the number of clients with us in a month and since training began.  

I have as much enthusiasm today to continue building the CAT brand and providing the best driver training available, as I did in 2005.  Investment in cars continues and now, additional briefing rooms.  Despite having been unable to work through lockdown #3, 2021 has been our best year.  Demand has been such, that our instructor coach team has increased to 4, working with the 402 clients seen to date, since 29th March 2021, when training restarted.  

Personal highlights - I became a self published author, with another in the pipeline, and launched our podcast series.  The opportunity to chat in depth with friends and associates in our industry, has been rewarding - beyond my expectations. The stats suggest you have enjoyed them too – any feedback will be much appreciated.

Have you noticed some new additions, introduced on social media channels? 

At the end of 2019 we added the Astra and Jaguar for use in core skills and highway work.

Now, joining the fleet, is a Renault Clio.  With a new engine and gearbox, roll cage, full harness belt and AST dampers, to make it CAT ready, quality tyres were added, with track-focused brakes. 

Feedback from clients confirm their enjoyment of its stripped-back purity and minimal electronic aids. A great dynamic driving experience.

At the opposite end of the purity scale is the addition of the GR Yaris Homologation Rally Special.  The Circuit Pack is small, fast and light.  Many learning outcomes and driver objectives are covered with this one vehicle. One example - in Sport mode it sends 30% of drive to the front and 70% to the rear.  The rear bias creates a primarily rear wheel drive experience.  It's a multi-purpose vehicle, being used for all our training disciplines: road; track; race; and motor industry.

Both are already settled at CAT HQ and busy working for industry and one to one training.

#CATDTC1 PODIUM

A great team effort in September saw Phil & David on the podium at Pembrey for #CATDTC1. Colin, Phil and Mark are aiming for more of the same at the Race of Remembrance at Anglesey this weekend.

The end of August saw us welcome our 6000th client!  Steve and Sarah were the recipients of our award.  Having taken a series of courses with us, they are transitioning their racing experience from 2 wheels to 4 as they're about to start racing - Steve is partnering with Mark Gillam of Abbey Motorsport fame in their Nissan 350z.

The diary will set by the end of the year with the planned Performance Driver Track Days, follow on Cornering Masterclass, standalone Group Over Grip Limit Handling and ultimate Group Optimisation car club course formats.
