INSTRUCTOR UPLIFT FOR RAF MARHAM AERO CLUB

Following the successful application for a Central Fund grant, RAF Marham Aero Club has been able to train up new in-house instructors to meet growing demands on their flying training.

Alongside learning credits and personal contributions, the Central Fund grant has helped the Club to leverage existing qualifications of service pilots at Marham and enable them to become civilian flying instructors.

Pictured above is the first student sent solo by one of the instructors qualified by the RAFCF grant. The student pilot is Cpl Hall who works in the Ltng training centre.

NEW BOWLING ALLEY FOR VALLEY

RAF Valley’s Dragon Bowl bowling alley has a new lease of life thanks to a vital upgrade as the result of a Central Fund grant. Improvements have been made to the reliability of the bowling machinery and the aged scoring system, monitors and ancillary cameras, have been replaced.

The Dragon Bowl committee has worked tirelessly to halt the decline of the bowling alley and has, through their hard work and dedication, managed to make this facility a viable concern for the future. The upgrade has enabled the addition of more weekend activities for military personnel, which is much-needed considering the isolated base status of RAF Valley.
