BE COLOUR CONFIDENT WITH JOHNSTONE’S TRADE
Our colour tools support your customers
Do your customers often ask you for support with finding the right colour for their rooms?

Homeowners have been spending more time at home than ever before and continue to turn to home improvements and updated colour schemes to bring a new lease of life into their spaces. When they turn to you for guidance and advice on colour, with the right tools and expertise from Johnstone’s Trade, you can confidently support them in making the right choices.

At Johnstone’s Trade, we have a range of digital and physical tools designed to help you support your customers when it comes to choosing schemes and matching colours. Here are the ways you can help to bring your customer’s vision to life.

Colour matching
Remove the hassle of matching colours with the PPG Colour Scanner – a hand-held device that connects to an app on your phone. Simply:
  • Scan an object
  • Get an instant match to one of the colours in the extensive PPG range (plus the next two closest matches)
  • Take the code into your local Johnstone’s Decorating Centre or other stockist to get a tester pot or your paint mixed up.
The Colour Scanners are available to purchase at your local stockist, Johnstone’s Decorating Centre, or through your PPG representative.

Fan deck
The Voice of Colour fan deck is an essential piece of kit. By taking one of these with you to your customers, you can share the full Voice of Colour palette and help your customers choose the perfect colours for their room. Speak to your PPG representative for more information.

Colour card
With a Johnstone’s Trade colour card you can advise your customers on how to build their perfect colour scheme and use our specially selected colour palette of 147 popular colours to help them with their colour selection – available at your local stockist, Johnstone’s Decorating Centre or online.

ColourBox Virtual Room Visualiser
Paint a room digitally with the Johnstone’s Trade ColourBox Virtual Room Visualiser. It lets your customers see how different colours look in their own room. By virtually painting the room with colours from the latest palettes and trends, you can help your customer confidently decide which one to choose. Customers can also upload their own pictures and choose colours for themselves using the tool.

60-30-10 rule
With so many colours to choose from, creating a balanced scheme can feel overwhelming for customers. Tell them about the Johnstone’s Trade 60-30-10 principle, a simple and practical guide to help create the perfect colour palette. The main colour should be used on 60% of the room, a feature colour should take up approximately 30%, such as on one wall or the ceiling, and 10% should be an accent colour, which could be used on interior wood or accessories.

Using the tools and expertise provided by Johnstone’s Trade, you can give your customers the confidence they need to find the perfect colours for their home.
