After heading north and an overnight stop, Scotland’s biggest, boldest scenery awaits you. Journey along scenic Loch Lomond before glorious Glen Coe on to historic Fort William on the banks of Loch Linhe. Then it’s time to head along mysterious Loch Ness, with even more stunning scenery, before your arrival in Beauly.
The beautiful Moray Coast awaits you and Brodie Castle on the outskirts of Forres. Enjoy a tour of the castle followed by time to drop into Brodie Countryfare, perhaps for a coffee and gifts, and the lovely traditional town of Forres. Why not travel along the coast road, passing the traditional fishing villages of Burghead, where many a Scottish crofter emigrated to America following the Highland Clearances in the early 18th century, to Lossiemouth with its two wonderful sandy beaches before a scenic return.
Venture to the city of Inverness and savour a cruise on the Moray Firth with its abundance of wildlife. Keep an eye out for the frolicking dolphins. There’s time at leisure to explore the historic city of inverness from the Botanic Gardens, the Cathedral or the shops and cafes. Here, we include the services of a local coach and driver.
Depart north along the east coast to Golspie and a visit to fairytale Dunrobin Castle known for it’s magnificent gardens and views across the sea, before heading to the lovely historic town of Dornoch with its independent shops and cafes. On your return, you may choose to travel back around the lovely peninsular of Black Isle, part of the North Coast 500, and it’s anything but black!
Travel south, perhaps stopping in Pitlochry, heading on for an overnight stop and the homeward journey.
