Following your short Channel crossing, travel westwards to Amboise for a four night stay.
Start your adventure with a morning visit to the magnificent Château de Chenonceau, one of the most photographed in the area. With time to wander through the beautiful formal gardens, explore the captivating interior and visit the Flower Garden. Make a stop in Montrichard before arriving into Blois, the capitol of the region. There’s time to wander at your own pace, with free time to perhaps visit the Royal Palace or to enjoy the House of Magic with its six headed dragon automaton.
Journey through the countryside and enjoy a morning visit to the village of Villandry, which is dominated by the Château with its world renowned gardens. (admission can be included in the tour), Continue onto historic Tours, known for its half-timbered houses, the bustling Place Plumereau and Saint-Gatien Cathedral. Situated between the Cher and Loire Rivers, Tours is viewed as gateway city to the Loire Valley.
Time in Amboise itself with the opportunity to explore this lovely town and an enthralling included visit to Chateau du Clos Luce, where Leonardo da Vinci spent his last years. Stroll around the parkland, garden and pond surrounded by centuries-old pines, Italian cypresses and yews. No visit to the Loire Valley would be complete without a visit to a local vineyard for a tour and tasting.
