Day 1 Travel to Yorkshire and our hotel in the lovely spa town of Harrogate.
Day 2 This morning is free to explore the delights of Harrogate. Why not visit the famous Betty's Tea Rooms. With its ornate fascia and delicious cakes, Betty's is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee. Afterwards, enjoy the RHS garden at Harlow Carr, specially designed to reflect the Yorkshire landscape, dominated by stone, water and woodland.
Day 3 Today we travel to the market town of Thirsk and step inside 'The World of James Herriot'. See where this famous vet lived, worked and wrote his incredibly successful series of books including 'All Creatures Great and Small'. Take time to meander along the streets and cobbled market square before a scenic drive towards Ripon with its magnificent cathedral, through Nidderdale, An Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty and Grassington, before returning to Harrogate.
Day 4 Our destination today is magnificent Harewood House, set in 100 acres of gardens with plants from all over the world in a landscape created by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown. Take time to explore upstairs and downstairs; learn about the Lascelles family and life below stairs before venturing into the splendid grounds including the Terrace, the Lakeside, Walled and Bird Garden, home to over 40 species of birds from around the world.
Day 5 Homeward journey.

Day 1 Travel to your hotel in York.
Day 2 The magnificent Castle Howard Estate is the first destination today. See the world-renowned collections gathered by succeeding generations of the Howard family and marvel at the thousand acres of sweeping parkland. Built over 300 years ago, it still remains a family home today. This afternoon, enjoy time at leisure in the riverside city of York. With its Roman roots and a Viking past, its ancient walls surround contemporary shops and world class museums.
Day 3 Time at leisure in the attractive town of Pickering, before boarding the North York Moors Railway for a nostalgic journey through the National Park. Disembark at Grosmont and continue to the lovely fishing port of Whitby, with its own history and heritage.
Day 4 To Scampston Hall and Walled Garden this morning for an included tour of the Hall. Home to the Legard family, this is one of the finest regency country houses in North Yorkshire, and contains many fine works of art, furniture and porcelain. The award-winning Walled Garden is a stunningly beautiful, contemporary garden, quite unlike any other. Designed by the much admired Dutch landscape designer Piet Oudolf, it is sure to be enjoyed by all. A fun visit this afternoon to the Scarborough Fair Collection with its working collection of vintage cars, steam engines and fairground rides.
Day 5 Homeward journey.

Day 1 Travel to Yorkshire with a recommended stop in Holmfirth where 'Last of the Summer Wine' was set.
Day 2 Journey to Embsay to enjoy a return steam train journey to Bolton Abbey (during the main season, journeys usually run on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays only). Rejoin the coach for the short trip to the charming market town of Skipton with time at leisure here to wander around the lovely cobbled streets and shops before taking a relaxing canal trip with hilarious cruise commentary from Dave Spikey.
Day 3 A full day guided excursion through the Yorkshire Dales National Park, to the pleasant market town of Appleby. Board the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway for the journey south to Settle for more wonderful dales scenery. Rejoin the coach and return to the hotel.
Day 4 Travel to the splendid city of York, enjoying the history and culture of this walled riverside city. Visit the magnificent National Railway Museum for an interesting and informative end to the day.
Day 5 Homeward journey.
