Conwy is one of Britain’s best-preserved medieval towns. Its ancient walls, enclose a town of narrow cobbled streets, full of historic buildings dominated by the castle with its authentic atmosphere and time to explore at your own pace. Later, travel over the Menai Strait to Beaumaris, in the southeast corner of Anglesey for a 75 minute Puffin Island Wildlife Cruise. With an abundance of wildlife in their natural habitat, look out for the seabirds, grey seals and possibly bottlenose dolphins! Alternatively, we can arrange a visit to Anglesey Sea Zoo (ask for details) with stunning views across the Strait to Snowdonia and the National Park. Time allowing, travel back through Snowdonia.
Head south to travel over the spectacular Horseshoe Pass to Llangollen. Enjoy a lovely horse drawn boat trip along the canal, which is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to a rich variety of local flora and fauna. A short drive to National Trust Erdigg Hall known as one of the country's finest stately homes. Built in 1864-1867 for Josiah Edisbury, the High Sheriff of Denbighshire, visitors will enjoy exploring this much loved house and garden, which is filled with stories of the family and their servants, whom were held in unusually high regard.
First stop is the small market town of Ruthin for time at leisure. On then to Bala for a delightful narrow gauge steam train journey through the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. The 9 mile return journey, alongside Bala Lake gives excellent views of the lake and surrounding scenery.
