Harewood House (Historic Houses)
RHS Garden Harlow Carr (Grest British Gardens)

The county of Yorkshire has many moods. It can be wild and windswept or quietly tranquil with outstanding gardens and scenery full of hay meadows, drystone walls and barns. Known for popular authors, such as James Herriot, to magnificent country houses and traditional spa towns, Yorkshire is always an inspiring and admired destination.  Based at the 3* Crown Hotel in the centre of Harrogate.

It's a gentle start with time at leisure to explore the delights of Harrogate. Always a favourite…. Why not visit to the famous Betty's Tea Rooms, the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee. Afterwards, visit the RHS garden at Harlow Carr, specially designed to reflect the Yorkshire landscape, dominated by stone, water and woodland.

Travel to the market town of Thirsk where The World of James Herriot awaits. See where this famous vet lived, worked and wrote his incredibly successful series of books including ‘All Creatures Great and Small’  based on his experiences as a young North Yorkshire vet. Take time to meander along the streets and cobbled market square before heading towards Ripon with its magnificent cathedral and a scenic drive through Nidderdale, An Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty, with its stunning moorland scenery and tapestry of lush green meadows to Grassington before returning to Harrogate.

Magnificent Harewood House is set in 100 acres of gardens with plants from all over the world in a landscape created by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown.
