Site preparation gets underway
We are continuing to make great progress with our plans to deliver the New Hillingdon Hospital. This week we reached another milestone as we received confirmation of funding to commence the next stage of works.

Work is about to commence to modernise one of the oldest buildings on the estate (the Furze, see photo above) to prepare for the provision of Adult Audiology, Haematology, the Education and Training Library and office accommodation. The refurbishment is the latest development in year four of our five-year enabling and decant programme to get the ready for construction of the new hospital.

Our new hospital will be a new state-of-the-art facility for the people of Hillingdon and beyond, providing the best place to work for our people.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone from the Hillingdon community and beyond for your continued support.

More works to come
Looking ahead, further works this year will include:
  • Extension and refurbishment of the Tudor Centre which will accommodate the new Education and Training Centre
  • Creation of a temporary offsite car park
  • Completion of the first stage of work to bring in the power supply for the new hospital, which as you will have noticed has involved digging up a number of local roads and installing temporary traffic lights outside the hospital
This will not affect patients' appointments and we will continue to keep our patients and the public regularly updated as the enabling and decant work progresses.

Local engagement continues as we are out and about at a number of events this summer to promote the wider work of the hospital and our redevelopment plans.

We joined forces with our hospital charity and the hospital radio station, Radio Hillingdon, to speak to local businesses - and even a local celebrity (see above) at the Hillingdon Expo in the athletics centre at Brunel University London on Thursday 23 May.

Many thanks to everyone who came to speak to us at the event.

If you have an event that you would like us to attand email us at thh.redevelopment@nhs.net
Hillingdon gets behind a new hospital
People across Hillingdon and our staff continue to get behind the plans for our new Hillingdon Hospital.

In the latest of our Hillingdon Voices series of videos, Radiologist Dr Rakesh Patel talks about some of the benefits patients can look forward to in a new Hillingdon Hospital.
