Summer Activities

Wirral Health Services in Schools are running their  Making Our Day Special (MODS) project again this summer!
This is four full days of activities focussing on fun, friendship and transition for vulnerable children in school years 5, 6 and 7.
Activities include ultimate frisbee, cardboard caving, woodland sack racing, forest funletics and so much more!
You can make a referral for a child by filling in the form here

The closing date for referrals will be: Wednesday 14th July 2021.

Pride Month

In celebration of Pride Month, the Anna Freud Centre have produced a series of resources for teaching children and young people about gender and understanding differences.

The resources include a lesson plan for LGBTQ+ history for both primary and post-16, as well as a worksheet to encourage children to celebrate themselves and what makes them unique.

Children's yoga

Children's mental and physical health has never been such a big part of our general discourse. Encouraging and teaching children different ways to look after themselves has life-long benefits.
Childline has set up a Calm Zone web page with various methods for helping children with their mental health, including yoga videos which helps with both physical and mental health:

Mental Health Lead Training

The Anna Freud Centre are offering Mental Health Lead training to senior education leaders and designated mental health leads to build a sustainable Whole School Approach to mental health. The course focuses on preventing mental health needs, supporting early interventions and developing relationships with external agencies.

This 2-day course can be booked from September.
