Welcome back to our Wirral Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) newsletter. This is our regular update from the local team supporting Wirral schools and colleges with all things mental wellbeing.

We'd really appreciate you sharing this with your young people, families and wider networks.

If you have any feedback about the newsletter feel free to contact us via cwp.adminmhst@nhs.net

An update from your local team

Over the summer the Learning Disabilities team at Wirral CAMHS will be having fun with some of their children and young people doing a range of activities designed to challenge and engage children and young people with LD and Autism.

The team have put together a programme of fun activities such as boxing, yoga and art sessions to help facilitate growth and development as well as having fun!

The Wirral MHST are still working over the summer holidays and we will continue to send the newsletter fortnightly during the six week break.
Shake up your summer

The '10 Minute Shake Up' is back! Building on previous years' successes, Public Health England are teaming up with Disney to help get kids active throughout the holidays by playing 10 Minute Shake Up games, inspired by some of their favourite characters from Disney's Frozen, Toy Story and Marvel's The Avengers.
'10 Minute Shake Up' aims to inspire children to rebuild confidence in being physically active and develop new and longer-term physical skills and most importantly, have fun!

Order a range of resources including a take-home Shake Up games pack, A4 and A3 posters and an empty belly poster to help promote local events. To know more and order your resources, click here https://www.nhs.uk/10-minute-shake-up/shake-ups

Tips to survive the summer holidays

Our amazing LD-CAMHS team has put together a resource to support the parents and carers of children and young people with LD and Autism.
The summer holidays can invoke feelings of anxiety in parents as well as children and the resource aims to help carers understand the different ways their children are communicating their needs.
the information sheet is available on the My Mind website.
App of the day

Lots of us use Apps every day, whether it's to message our friends or to edit photographs. But have you considered using apps on your phone to help improve your general wellbeing?

Headspace for kids is meditation made simple. Available to all subscribers, young people (and their parents) can enjoy fun, engaging activities that teach them the basics of mindfulness. They’ll practice breathing exercises, visualizations and even try some focus-based meditation.
