An update from your local team

Wirral MHST are contributing to trialing a new website delivered by Sandbox. The website will go live later this year and will provide information to young people on how to make referrals to various services across the Wirral including the MHST.

Over the summer, the MHST will try out the website to ensure it's easy to use and the information provided is accurate.
Child in Mind Podcasts

The Anna Freud Centre website provides access to the Child in Mind podcasts by Radio 4's Claudia Hammond. The podcast focuses on a different aspect of child and family mental health such as ADHD, childhood anxiety and self-harm. 

The podcasts are only 20 minutes long and include advice and chat with experts, parents and young people. For access to previous podcasts go to the Anna Freud website
Free Summer Holiday Activities

Local councils across Wirral and Cheshire are providing free summer holiday activities to all children who are entitled to free schools meals. 
The activities include holiday clubs and access to leisure facilitites. Those children not entitled to free schools meals are also  able to access these activities at a small cost.

Yoga and mindfulness for children

Yoga is beneficial for both mind and body but it can be hard to maintain children's attention. Healthbox are a Community Interest company based in Ellesmere Port who deliver yoga and mindfulness sessions for children using stories and adventures. They also offer yoga sessions to young people to help build physical strength and relax the mind.

The sessions can be delivered as part of schools P.E. sessions.  For more information visit Yoga & Mindfulness - Healthbox CIC.
