Automation technology is an opportunity for machine builders

A recent study from trade show organiser Nineteen Group has shown that 78% of industrial companies are finding it either harder or much more complex than usual to find the employees they want. The survey shows that the most challenging roles to populate are engineering, manufacturing and technical. Now, this has been a growing problem for many years, and it’s been exacerbated by Brexit and Covid, and getting more young people into engineering is a problem that needs tackling at the highest level. But, in the mean time, there is an opportunity for machine builders to demonstrate how the latest automation technologies can hep ease the strain on personnel shortages in manufacturing in particular, easing reliance on manual labour that is increasingly difficult to find.
