Mitigating the impact of supply chain disruption

With four fifths of manufacturers indicating that they expect ongoing supply chain disruption to be a strategic risk for their business over the next two years or more, companies are being urged to make use of supply chain technologies to mitigate the worst impacts of disruption. Andrew Kinder, senior vice president for international strategy and sales support at Infor said: “Whilst nearly half of manufacturers are taking advantage of analytics for improving visibility, the real value will come from increased use of artificial intelligence and machine learning to help identify and predict events, analyse the best alternatives and automate responses, giving manufacturers a competitive edge.”
