Why is there no minister for manufacturing within government?
How can the manufacturing sector, which is so instrumental in the UK, not have any representation within Government? This was the question asked by Andrea Wilson, director at Hone-All Precision, and to drive change she set up the ‘Support UK Manufacturing’ initiative. And the campaign is gathering real momentum. At the same time, Britain’s manufacturers are calling for the establishment of a Royal Commission as a starting point to develop a long term, modern Industrial Strategy, with the call made on the back of new report published by Make UK. So perhaps now we could be on the verge of seeing some much needed change.
With best regards
