Productivity isn’t everything…

As manufacturers look to push forward in these challenging times, a quote from economist and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman comes to mind. He said: “Productivity isn’t everything, but in the long run, it’s almost everything.” For machine builders looking to help their end user customers drive up their output, it is notable that robotics almost always deliver a productivity boost. Investment in robotics in the UK has traditionally been hampered both by attitudes and by cost. We can’t do much to influence cost, but it does seem that attitudes are changing. People are becoming much more open to the use of robotic appliances in a domestic setting, and that ought to translate to greater open mindedness to robot adoption in the workplace. Perhaps that growing acceptance is something to build upon.

With best regards
