Data points to a manufacturing sector at a crossroads
With inflation reportedly having peaked, and the economy seeing unexpected – if small – growth, fears of a recession are easing. At the same time, Britain’s manufacturers are seeing a rebound in activity in the first quarter of the year according to a survey published this week by Make UK and BDO. But with some contradictory indicators in the data, BDO national head of manufacturing Richard Austin pointed to an industry potentially at a crossroads. “It will be fascinating to see which path will be followed over the coming months,” he said.
With best regards
