Orders and output volumes expected to increase

While optimism is in short supply among manufacturers right now, the CBI’s latest Industrial Trends survey suggests that the rate of decline in sentiment is falling. Output is stable, while supply chain pressures, labour shortages and energy costs are easing slightly. And firms expect output volume to increase in the current quarter. This is not to say conditions are going to be easy through 2023, but ours is a resilient sector, and even in challenging times there will be opportunities for growth.
