Familiar calls from the UK's manufacturing base

The BBC this morning sent out its roving reporters to interview manufacturers about the impact they hoped our new prime minister might have, and what they felt it might take to get the economy back on its feet. No surprises at the answers: give us the skills we need and the support to invest in technology, and the boost in productivity that will follow will increase output, boost exports and drive up GDP. Sounds a familiar cry, doesn't it. But will our new prime minister show a willingness to listen?

With best regards
