Recognising the importance of supply chain resilience

I have heard this week from a number of different sources that they find themselves incredibly busy post-Covid, not so much with customers having a correspondingly higher number of projects, but more from customers’ fears over the resilience of their supply chains and so stocking up on critical products. It means that after decades of building businesses around just-in-time operations, many companies are deliberately moving over to ‘just-in-case’ stocking. Will this be a further driver, I wonder, in the debate on the merits of re-shoring or near-shoring operations. Interesting times.

With best regards
