Making the best decisions without second-guessing the market

A common question in the selection of any technology as part of a project is how well it will be supported in coming years and, in particular, whether it will be obsolete any time soon. When we read headlines about joining systems and the developments therein, we might wonder about the longevity of any given technology. But  at the same time, dismissing a solution because of unfounded fears of obsolescence could lead us off in completely the wrong direction. I take comfort in the growth predicted in all areas of the fasting and joining sector, with adhesives expected to show 5.0% CAGR over the next few years, riveting 5.6% and fasteners 5.0%. And because we can be assured of the future of all of those technologies, we can make a joining decision based on the best solution for the application rather than trying to second guess possible developments in the market.

With best regards
