Automate to ride the recruitment challenges

Brexit has certainly had an impact on labour availability, but that one factor alone doesn’t come close to explaining the current challenges in recruitment. Graeme Chaplin, west Midlands and Oxfordshire agent for the Bank of England highlights what he calls “a lack of participation” in the workforce post-Covid that has seen over a million people take themselves out of the employment pool – either through early retirement, through staying in higher education or through citing long-term sickness effects after the pandemic. This is a recruitment challenge that’s not going to ease any time soon, but automation can help – not only enabling companies to ride the peaks and troughs in labour availability, but increase productivity, flexibility and agility at the same time.
