A logical progression from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0?

Is it just me who’s confused by the recently defined Industry 5.0? I was perfectly comfortable with the logical progression from the first industrial revolution to the fourth, but Industry 5.0 seems to me more like an alternative to 4.0, bringing people back into the production equation in contrast to the oft-stated goal of 4.0 of the lights-out factory. How do the two fit together? Can we achieve 5.0 on its own or do we have to complete the 4.0 journey first? If the digital transformation of 4.0 is too much of a challenge, can we skip it completely and move right on? And where can I buy an “Industry 5.0-ready” controller? For all of its challenges, I saw the sense in Industry 4.0 as a journey. Industry 5.0, on the other hand, seems little more than a marketing opportunity. Or have I completely missed the point?

With best regards
