Digitalise to improve traceability Food and beverage manufacturers face numerous challenges, but managing food safety is up there as one of the biggest. Just this month, Asda announced a recall of frozen hash browns that had mistakenly been packed with potato croquettes that contain milk and wheat. This and other high-profile recalls continue to reinforce the importance of traceability, and automation solutions have a key role to play, enabling manufacturers to digitalise traceability right through the supply chain. It can give manufacturers the tools they need not just to respond better to demands at the retail end of the chain, but to identify production issues as they happen – or prevent them happening in the first place.
