Automation and robotics can be a key attraction in recruitment

UK manufacturers are bullish about the future, with 61% predicting that their production will be higher in a year’s time, according to the latest UK Manufacturing PMI. Recent rebounds in output and new orders have also led to the fastest rate of job creation in more than two years, and while that's good news for our sector, it's inevitably going to further highlight the ongoing skills shortage. We've said this before, but I wonder if it adds further weight to a message that OEMs could be giving to customers - that alongside the many productivity benefits, automation and robotics can also be key in their recruitment drive, being particularly attractive to engineering candidates.

With best regards
