83% of manufacturing businesses are yet to use AI technologies
Data taken from ONS’ Business Insights and Conditions Survey (BICS) survey, and analysed by Distinctly, has revealed a significant skills gap in the manufacturing sector, with over four in five (83%) manufacturing businesses are not currently using AI technologies. It seems there are a number of barriers to AI implementation: 6% of businesses note lack of expertise as a factor, while 8% cite difficulty identifying practical business use cases. 4% of businesses note security concerns as an issue, while 5% cite cost as an issue.
