Right-to-repair needs a considered approach

'Right-to-repair' has been back in the news recently, with a couple of news items highlighting problems for manufacturers in managing their supply chains. But what came up for me when I searched for more information was a piece from Harvard Business Review that explored "the unintended consequences of right-to-repair laws". It's a couple of years old now, but still worth a read. As someone who had to battle for what seemed like days to get a particular MP3 player open to replace a battery, right-to-repair feels like a sound idea, and as the scope expands it will surely impact on the way products are assembled. But it's certainly a complex issue that needs a considered approach.

With best regards
