Working towards a sustainable future

I read a report this morning from the University of Glasgow about how the development of compostable sensors could help to grow the impact of digital agriculture without a corresponding rise in electronic waste. It reminded me how big a business imperative sustainability is right now. We're all embracing it because it's the right thing to do – in our sector, for example, by right-sizing fasteners to reduce weight or by using adhesives that contain no petroleum derivatives. We're doing it, but are we telling our customers we're doing it? The sustainability credentials of the products we sell are going to become increasingly important to customers; they might not be asking the questions yet, but they will. If we can get the message across now, that’s surely a useful product differentiator.

With best regards
