Frozen foods riding high as consumer demand grows

A food and beverage industry panel hosted by inventory management software provider Unleashed has identified a number of shifts in consumer preferences which could offer new opportunities for savvy manufacturers. Along with huge growth in demand for frozen foods – and quality products in particular – the panel identified the rise of hyper-personalisation, growth in functional foods aligned with specific wellness needs like sleep and alertness, and products that lead on a single key benefit. Jarrod Adam, head of product for Unleashed, said: "The manufacturers who are leading the way are creating and testing new product variations monthly and even weekly with help from software that lets them test and scale new recipes efficiently, at minimal cost.”
