Tax and regulation hikes fatal for growth
The latest NIESR Economic Outlook for the UK paints a pretty bleak picture, with Institute of Economic Affairs director general Lord Frost commenting: "This proves what we already know, that hiking taxes, spending, and regulation on workers is fatal for economic growth." Adding that we are seeing laid bare the costs of the government's national insurance hikes and other measures that have hindered employers, Lord Frost urged to the government to get serious about growth.
