Immunisation modules within e-learning for Healthcare meet your annual update requirements. Recommended modules to cover are Legal Aspects, Vaccine Storage and Vaccine Administration.

Public Health England will be putting on webinars through August and September with updates on the annual flu programme. As soon as these dates are confirmed, they will be promoted via the Training Hub website.

Health Education England (HEE) are funding a programme to support the development of General Practice Assistants (GPAs) in Primary Care, to assist doctors with routine administration and some basic clinical duties, enabling the GP to focus on the patient.

The scheme includes £2,120 per candidate to practices for clinical time supporting learners, training outlay and mentor marking time and offers an exciting opportunity for General Practice staff to gain insight, knowledge and exposure within a health care environment.

In response to feedback from staff on how to improve the transition into general practice, we have developed a virtual induction programme for anyone new to Primary Care.The monthly programme aims to support your local Practice induction by providing a consistent and comprehensive introduction to working in Primary Care.

Who is it for? Any staff new to Primary Care  (intended for staff who have started very recently but it may be beneficial to some staff who have been in post a few months). Upcoming dates:

The Fellowship scheme is a 2 year funded programme of education and support open to any GPN or GP who qualified within the last 12 months (rolling) and is employed in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Practice in a substantive post.

To support Admin and Clerical Teams with have patient contact, we have developed a series of forums in an effort to help your staff with the continued pressure and complex and challenging calls coming into surgery.

Each one will run for 60 minutes with around 40 minutes of interactive content, then discussions in breakout rooms followed by de-brief and feedback.
With the move of the UTC to PCH, PCH are looking for professionals to support in covering the shifts below:
  • B6 RCN: 6-24th July – Shift 9am-9:30pm for initial assessment. This is for navigating/streaming patients at the front door. This could be to ED/UTC or other settings.
  • B5 RCN: Each day in July – Shift in UTC - 11:30am-12am (Midnight)
  • B7 EP: each day in July (except Sunday 11th July) – Shift in UTC 9am – 8pm.This is for practitioners, ideally who are minor illness trained

The ILM Level 5 Certificate in Effective Coaching & Mentoring is a highly engaging and interactive programme which provides opportunities for participants to develop their coaching skills through practical sessions. The programme is designed to help those with significant responsibility for effective coaching and mentoring as part of their daily role within an organisational context, to learn how to help newly qualified and less experienced peers embed into the general practice environment and become an integral part of local primary care team.
Are you a GP looking for new challenges, or for a portfolio career opportunity?
  • Are you mid or late career?
  • Do you enjoy supporting colleagues?
  • Do you have experience in training or staff development?
  • Can you offer a regular session a week to mentor new to practice GPs?
We are looking for up to 8 local GPs to join our mentoring team. Through attending our accredited coaching and mentoring course, you will gain skills to develop in this role with 1 session a week regularly supporting new to practice GP colleagues.
HEE will be hosting a series of drop-in sessions for those that may be interested in supporting a student Nursing Associate. These sessions will be open to all and will answer any questions that you might have regarding sponsoring a Nursing Associate in your PCN.

These will be taking place on:

Tuesday 22nd June from 6pm to 7pm
Thursday 15th July from 12:30pm to 1:30pm

  • If you are feeling distressed or are supporting someone in distress you can freephone for on-the-day listening support and information with a trained individual
  • If you feel you need support but are not sure what you need, you can self-refer for a one-to-one conversation with a trained health professional
  • The Hub is closely linked with local wellbeing and mental health services, to make sure you can get the right help for you, quickly, if you need it
