How to cope when a doctor dies by suicide - 7th November 2022
Suicide has a huge impact on all of us, and as medical professionals, it can be especially challenging to grieve, cope and move forward after a colleague dies by suicide. So how do we support each other, and ourselves, when we hear this kind of news about a colleague?Shapes are providing a one-off, free session on how to cope when a doctor dies by suicide.

LAST CALL! - Immunisation Training for HCAs 2022
We still have spaces on our fourth and final training course on Immunisations for HCAs for 2022! The course consists of 6.5 hours of pre-reading, a full day's webinar on 16th November and a half day practical on the morning of the 23rd November. Delegates need to hold a Level 3 Qualification (e.g. NVQ3, Level 3 diploma, A-levels) or have completed the Care Certificate and have at least two years’ experience as a HCSW. Don't miss out - applications close on Friday 4th November! (Next course will be June 2023)

Getting ready for patients to have access to their future information
From 1 November 2022, GP systems are being updated to give people with online accounts (NHS App and other approved patient apps) access to see new entries in their GP health record automatically. We appreciate the pressures experienced by general practices and that some may not yet be fully prepared for the change, so a series of additional webinars have been arranged to help practices ensure access to online records is offered safely and effectively.  A CPFT 2-day conference learning from experts about working with people with relational and emotional difficulties or a formal Personality Disorder diagnosis.
Safeguarding Matters - PREVENT
01 December, 13:00-14:00
December’s Safeguarding Matters session on radicalisation and PREVENT’s Toolkit - including how to spot radicalisation and who to contact with concerns.
BLS Training - 7th, 14th and 15th December
This basic 2-hour course outline will cover the following:
  • Identify the causes and promote the prevention of cardiopulmonary arrest
  • Primary Survey & recognition of cardiac arrest and calling for help
  • Undertake the skills of quality CPR and defibrillation (AED) and simple airway manoeuvres
  • The person who is unconscious and recovery position
  • Choking and techniques to manage this
  • Anaphylaxis including use of AAI’s
£15 per delegate, locations in Peterborough, Alconbury and March available.

General Practice Assistant Training Scheme - Places available
HEE have allocated 2 places* on the GPA Scheme starting 1st December 2022. If you have an individual that you would like to put through the scheme, please apply by Monday 14th November. Alternatively, should you wish to express an interest for future cohorts, please fill in the EOI form. *more places may become available, so put your applications in!

General Practice Fellowship
A 2-year funded programme for new or recently qualified GPs and Nurses, plus support for the practices employing them. Provides protected CPD time, early career learning, mentorship, peer support and coaching. If you are new to practice, or if your practice is recruiting for GPs or nurses, find out more and apply online here.

MSK Clinical Mentoring for GPs
Our 3-stage MSK Clinical Mentoring Programme supports GPs to upskill in MSK assessment, diagnosis and management through funded study, clinical observation and practical mentoring in clinic.
Mentoring for Admin Roles
If you have started an Admin & Clerical role in General Practice within the last 12 months, you can access up to 3 funded mentoring sessions with one of our experienced Training Hub mentors.
Educators and Learning Organisations
Your Journey from Tier 2 to Tier 3 Educator
If you are a Tier 2 educator and are interested in developing to become a Tier 3, please do join us for our face-to-face tutorial event on Thursday 17th November at Hemingford Pavillion. Booking is now open, but spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Supporting Future Educators Programme
Following the success of our previous Supporting Future Educators programme, helping to steer you through the journey of becoming a first-time educator at Tier 3, we are pleased to let you know we are running it again starting this autumn. Expressions of interest are now open.
Becoming an Educator or Learning Organisation

FCP Supervisor Funding
FCP supervisors play a vital role in supporting staff to complete their FCP roadmap.  The Training Hub has secured some funding from HEE and are able to offer grants of up to £3,000 per supervisor.  These grants will help cover some of the costs associated with releasing supervisors to support learners. Please note that there is only a limited budget so please ensure you apply as soon as possible. To find out more click here.
