Dear Prospective Parent/Carer,

The summer holidays are imminent and I am sure that you and your families will be looking forward to relaxing and sharing time together. This is the last newsletter of this academic year with the next scheduled to be issued at the start of September.

We are delighted to announce that we have now got details of our Open Evening. We very much hope that you will join us on the evening and look forward to meeting you all:

Heathside Walton-on Thames Open Evening:

Wednesday 29th September 2021 between 6-8pm

Xcel Leisure Centre
KT12 2JG

There will be a presentation and question and answer session
held at 6.15pm and repeated at 7pm.

We are also pleased to announce that the Heathside Walton-on-Thames website has now been launched:

Heathside Walton Sporting Facilities

This newsletter is to give you some idea of the fabulous sporting facilities the school will be privileged to have and the sports which will be on the curriculum. With the cessation of many sporting activities throughout the pandemic we know how important physical fitness is to our students’ wellbeing.

P.E. will form part of the core curriculum for all students in all years. Additional activity at Key Stage 4 will be offered through an optional P.E. GCSE course.  Sports offered will include rugby, football, cricket, netball, athletics, rounders, gymnastics, hockey, basketball, badminton, dance, trampolining, table tennis, cheerleading, and volleyball.
Indoor sports facilities will include a large sports hall and indoor cricket nets for use throughout the winter months. In addition, there will be a dance studio which has full audio facilities for both lesson and private hire. Outside there will be two muga pitches which will be used for lessons and be accessible to students during the break and lunchtime.

Outdoor sports pitches will comprise of a full-size rugby and football pitch as well as a 3G cricket square and 3 other grass squares: all Sports England compliant.
We wish the school to be at the heart of the Walton community and as such the school’s sports facilities will be a key community asset. There will be a community agreement in place in order that local sports clubs can hire and run training sessions and matches.  This will undoubtably also open more opportunities for our own students to train and compete locally.

It is also expected that pupils will also make use of facilities at the Xcel Leisure Centre before and after school and on occasions, during the school day.

Thank you for your support and interest to date for your son/daughter joining the Heathside Walton-on-Thames school in September 2022.  We are delighted to have had positive feedback and a high level of interest to date. The online application form can be found here.

If you know of other prospective parents who would like to receive the updates please ask them to complete the online form here.
