Safer streets and stronger communities – that’s my ambition for the Northumbria Police force area, as set out in my new Police and Crime Plan.

Thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts, views and concerns.

Your contributions have helped shape a new set of priorities for Northumbria Police to deliver on:

Priority 1: Engaged and responsive police force
Priority 2: Crime and anti-social behaviour
Priority 3: Serious violence and organised crime
Priority 4: Violence against women and girls
Priority 5: Hate crime and community cohesion
Priority 6: Victims and justice

It really is your plan and focuses on the issues that matter to local people.

I look forward to working with you, and on your behalf, to put the plan into action.
When I got elected back in May 2024 I promised to a Commissioner who listened....my new plan reflects that promise.

You told me what matters the most to you, the issues & concerns you have in your communities, and how Northumbria Police can deliver the best service for you.

My new Police & Crime Plan, Safer Streets: Stronger Communities, details the priorities that you told me about, and how we can deliver on these.

I promise that I will hold the Chief Constable to account for delivering on these priorities, and provide regular updates on the progress being made, and work taking place.
