9 Items To Remember:
1
Remember to arrive in plenty of time

Please Please Please ARRIVE EARLY!!!... You need time to park, prepare, drop baggage off, probably use the toilet (maybe more than once...we have over 100 on site) and fully warm up, we recommend arriving 2 hours before the start of your race! .. WHAT 2 hours!?.. Do we really mean 2 hours??? YES WE DO! Those who follow this advice will sail in with no delays!

We have worked with road traffic models and will be manually controlling the lights in Lyndhurst to improve traffic flow on exit of the event, however, entry may take a little longer. The roads surrounding the Race Village are single carriageway so please allow extra time due to the concentrated flow of traffic travelling to the event in such a short period of time. For quieter roads, we recommend approaching via Beaulieu or Lymington rather than through Lyndhurst. Every year we hear so many people say they should of left home earlier... so please, please don't let this be you!

Those arriving by train or who are staying in Brockenhurst can make use of our shuttle bus, operating from the train station between 7:00am - 5.40pm - The Shuttle Bus timetable can be found under the ā€˜Key Informationā€™ section of the New Forest Marathon website and in the Essential Information.

Remember to bring Ā£5 (Cash if possible) for car parking or your pre-paid pass

Remember to bring Ā£5 CASH for the car park.

Your car park ticket will allow unlimited entry to the car park all day so you can store lunch or extra items in your car and have easy access to them at any time. You will be given a sticker on arrival and will need to display it to exit the carpark, so make sure it is clearly displayed when you leave.

You are welcome to leave and re-enter the car park as many times as you like as long as you keep your car park sticker. This year we have a new parking system, which we hope will increase the speed of entry and exit, however please be understanding during peak times as there are only 2 entrances/exits to the site and SAFETY WILL ALWAYS BE OUR PRIORITY OVER SPEED!

For those who have purchased pre-paid car parking, (only available to purchase until the 30th Aug) your pass will be included in your race pack, please ensure that this is clearly displayed on your windscreen on entry and you will be swept into the carpark via the most direct route.

Remember to check your Race Pack

Your Race Pack contains:

Ā· Race number

Ā· Safety pins

Ā· Baggage drop off label

Ā· Pre paid car park ticket if you have purchased one

Your race packs are starting to be sent out in the post from the 30th August. For those who have booked on after Midnight on the1st September your race packs will need to be collected from Registration on Race Day. Registration is located in the New Forest Marathon Race Village, clearly marked on the Race Village Map inside the Essential Information Guide. Please allow extra time for this as there may be queues on the day!

Can I collect a Race Pack for a friend/s?
Of course you can. All we need to see is a copy of your friend/s ID with an address on it and D.O.B, a picture of it on your phone will be fine. We often have a few entrants with the same name, so this way it allows us to make sure we give you the correct race pack! If this matches our records then all is well.

Remember to bring a change of clothes

It's vital to stay warm before and after the race, you are racing through the New Forest which is stunning, but it is also a natural environment so (weather depending) it can be muddy in places and possibly wet. A spare pair of shoes/socks/a towel, is a good idea as no doubt you will work up a sweat! You can go to and from your car all day which is close to the Race Village.

The open aired Baggage Area is located close to the finish line so you will never be to far away from your items. (please note that for 2023 the Baggage Area is open aired so itā€™s a good idea to pop your belongings inside a waterproof bag or bin liner before putting them inside your bag, just in case itā€™s wet on race day!

A change of clothes for all weathers will allow you to fully enjoy the Race Village afterwards, we have a packed line up of fantastic acts performing on the Main Stage. This is kitted out with 60 picnic tables where you can relax, grab some food from one of the many traders or a beverage from the New Forest Marathon Bar and recover. Alternatively you may want to stretch your legs by wondering around the Race Village among the variety of trade stands or try one of the activities on offer in the PB Education Activities Area!  Our physio team from South Coast RX Physiotherapy will be based in a marquee in the Race Village. You can pop in for a treatment or book a slot in advance by emailing southcoastrx@gmail.com

The Race Village is open until 5pm, with a junior race taking place at 3.30ĀĀĀpm, so feel free to bring a picnic and make a day of it!

Remember to stay hydrated

There are water stations around all courses (apart from the 5k  - details of drinks stations can be found on the website under 'the race' section). Remember to stay hydrated and fuelled throughout your race.

At the finish you will be given a cup of water, There are 10 water points spread out around the Race Village with FREE fresh tapped drinking water.

You are welcome to refill your cup as many times as you like. We ask you to please use the bins provided when disposing of any litter. For 2023 we have a recycle bin at the finish line so please use this if possible. Please help us by putting these cups into the recycling bin!

Toilets

For 2023 we have expanded the toilets to include over 100 on site, and extra urinals, this is plenty, however we know the toilets are in high demand before the races start. With this in mind, please give priority to runners that are taking part in the next race.

Needing the loo on route... For those doing the Full Marathon there are 3 toilet stops on route. These are at mile 4.5 and 6.5 on Rhinefield Ornimental Drive - These toliets can be accessed twice as the course loops around and on the exit of Wilverley Inclosure, just by the drinks station (Mile 20). For those doing the Half Marathon, there are 2 toilet stops on route, at mile 4.5 and mile 6.5. For those doing the 5k and 10k. You will have to just run faster, there are plenty of toilets in the Race Village!

Remember that we are raising money for the New Forest Marathon Community Fund

The New Forest Marathon Community Fund helps support projects that inspire activity, with an over-riding aim to help create a healthier community. We have raised over Ā£85,000 in the last 9 years with every single penny given back to support the local community.

Last year, with your support we have now helped over 80 projects around the area helping hundreds of more people get active.

If you would like to donate to this charity you can click on the 'donate here' button below, or place some change in the donation buckets at Registration.

Alternatively you can visit https://donorbox.org/new-forest-marathon-community-fund

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support in helping to make a difference in our local community.

Each year, part of your race fee is given back to Forestry England to help support a range of conservation projects and the continued management of the New Forest. This financial support is integral to ensure the continued preservation of this unique landscape.

This takes about a week to do (and a week to take down) Please remember that during this time it may take a little longer to respond to emails.

Race Results
After the race, you can find your results via the New Forest Marathon website, under the results section. This is a live feed and will update through out the day. Remember at the New Forest Marathon runners set off in waves.
