Wakefield Council moves to secure one of the district's most historic churches and combat anti-social behaviour in South Kirkby
Following a consultation exercise carried out by the Council, it was found that residents of South Kirkby were concerned about the level of anti-social behaviour and acts of vandalism affecting one of the town's most historic buildings.

The Upper Westgate Heritage Action Zone project has helped to preserve and protect the future of 19 historic buildings and five traditional ginnels. A special performance of "Bowhead Whale" was put on to mark the occasion.
