In line with its ambition to raise professional standards the National Youth Agency (NCA) has published a number of new resources to support those responsible for commissioning or delivering youth work, to meet their legal requirements and which reflects best practice. The resources are split into Youth Work Practice Standards and Safeguarding Stands for the youth sector.

Raising the bar - Youth Work Practice Standards:
This is the go-to guide to support youth work delivery, and outlines requirements for governance, planning and evaluation.

Safeguarding standards for the youth sector:
These standards have been designed to support good safeguarding practices for all those working with children and young people, adults at risk, volunteers and paid staff in youth work environments. This collaborative tool has been designed to and with youth work organisations and young people.

To find out more about both please click here.

There is an opportunity to find out more about how to incorporate the new standards into youth work practice at the NYA’s upcoming webinar: Understanding the new Youth Work Practice and Safeguarding Standards, taking place on Wednesday 13th September at 1pm. Click here to reserve your place.
