From new partnerships to ground-breaking initiatives, this edition explores the highlights of our community outreach and celebrates the spirit of innovation that defines our airport.

London Biggin Hill Airport becomes principal sponsor of girls' rugby at Bromley Rugby Club

We're delighted to announce our partnership with Bromley Rugby Club as the principal supporter and shirt sponsor for their Girls' Section.

The club launched their first Girls' Action Plan in September 2023, which aims to increase participation not only of girls playing throughout the club but also for women who want to be involved in coaching and volunteering roles over the next five seasons.

To celebrate the new association, representatives and players from Bromley Rugby Club joined our Chief Executive Officer, David Winstanley, for a photo at the airport.

We look forward to working with the team and supporting the development of their Girls' Action Plan over the coming season. Read the full news release here.

Our Lookout Coffee Shop extends its opening hours!

The coffee shop is now open from 08:30 - 17:00 daily, 7 days a week.

Local students 'reach for the skies' on Futures Week
We thoroughly enjoyed hosting our latest group of Futures Week participants in February. Designed to inspire young people (aged 15-18 years) to consider a career in aviation, our biannual event gives fifteen students the opportunity to explore the many different roles available within the industry.

The group of enthusiastic young people visited many of our on-site businesses to learn about the variety of career opportunities within aviation - piloting, engineering, air traffic control, customer service and everything in-between.

We aim to run Futures Week twice a year during every February and October half-term. Details about our October programme will be shared on our website soon.

Celebrating International Women's Day

This International Women's Day (8th March), we celebrated all the women that keep our airport thriving. At London Biggin Hill, we're dedicated to building a balanced workforce, ensuring diversity of thought and influence across our business.

We're proud of our ongoing commitment to promoting equal opportunities for women and girls, of every age and background, and work hard to encourage a clear and inclusive pathway for all.

Ex-RAF pilot becomes oldest Briton to fly in a Spitfire

On 5th February, Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar hosted RAF veteran, Jack Hemmings, 102, for a special flight, where he became the oldest Briton to fly in a Spitfire.

Jack was an early pioneer of Mission Aviation Fellowship, the world’s largest humanitarian air operator. His historic Spitfire flight took place to raise awareness and funds for the charity he co-founded 80 years ago.
