We're wishing Surrey residents a very happy and safe end to the year and a wonderful start to 2026.

Watch our Christmas message from your Police and Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend and Deputy Commissioner Ellie Vesey-Thompson below:

Each year, Lisa and Ellie open their annual Christmas card competition.

In 2025, they invited children and young people supported by any youth service in the county to submit their designs.

They received artworks from youngsters involved in the Scouts, community youth clubs and more.

But after looking through all the designs, they decided that this year's winner was a young boy who is supported by the South West Surrey Domestic Abuse Service.

His image of the words 'Merry Christmas from Surrey', with towns and villages filling the letters, has been sent to MPs, leaders in public service and charitable sectors, local councillors – and even the Prime Minister.

He received a £100 Amazon voucher as a prize.

Lisa said: "I'm absolutely delighted to share my annual Christmas card with you all once again.

"I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to send me their drawings.

"I have always considered myself extremely lucky to serve as Surrey's Police and Crime Commissioner, and that's never more true than when I receive the submissions for the Christmas card competition."

Lisa and Ellie were delighted to receive a number of designs from children and young people who attend Club Dean, a youth centre based at the Old Dean in Camberley.

During the summer, the Commissioner announced she had committed just over £31,000 to the centre to fund a youth worker. The post aims to promote community safety and provide opportunities to young people on the estate.

We'd like to thank everyone who sent in their artwork!

The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner will be closed from 1pm on Christmas Eve until 8am on Friday, January 2.

Emails and web forms can be sent, and answerphone messages left, but they will not be monitored or actioned during this time.

Surrey Police can be contacted via 101, digital 101 or 999, 24/7 every day of the year.
