ICT and digital business continuity guidance
The NHS North West London IT Team, Clinical IT Leads and Primary Care have built a guide that will support you with your own ICT and Digital Business Continuity plans. The document should not be taken as a final plan, but one that can help and support bolster your own.
As with every business continuity plan, they should be checked regularly to make sure that the information is correct, and any amendments made. We would suggest that the plan is also tested, (like you would with a fire drill) to make sure that your teams understand what do to.
The latest update can be found here on the NHS North West London London Primary Care Systems webpage and will be updated regularly.
Should you have any questions, please click here to email the team.

Privacy Notice
NHS North West London London Primary Care Information Governance (PCIG) has added a Privacy Notice to the PCIG webpage.
A Privacy Notice is a document or statement that explains how an organisation collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data. It is the responsibility of every “Data Controller” to ensure your practice privacy notice is kept up to date and is published at the practice and on your website. The responsibility of updating the Privacy Notice is yours.
If you need any advice or support, please email the DPO via email to nhsnwl.icb-dpo-gp@nhs.net.

Compassionate care for all: Have your say on specialist community palliative care for adults in north west London
Public consultation: 18 November 2024 – 24 February 2025
In last weeks, bulletin we highlighted the launch of the public consultation on the future of specialist community palliative care for adults in north west London. We have two asks of GP and practice colleagues moving forward.
Ask 1
It is very important that GPs and practice staff take part in the consultation and provide their views on the proposed options.
There are a wide range of ways that you can do that including completing a questionnaire or attending one of the many events that we are holding.
You can find out more about the options we are consulting and how you can get involved by visiting our website at www.nwlondonicb.nhs.uk/cspc.
Ask 2
We would ask for your support by sharing information about the consultation with your patients. This could be by:
- Putting the poster on your noticeboards
- Sharing information through your social media channels
- Adding an article to your website or any patient newsletter.
We have also produced an animated case study that can be placed on your practice TV screens.
All information and resources can be found on our website at www.nwlondonicb.nhs.uk/cspcresources.

Hounslow Stay Steady and Active falls prevention event

Research help
Rheumatology at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust would like to get the GP view on whose responsibility it is to complete cardiovascular risk assessments of patients for patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Clear guidance is lacking as to who should be delivering these reviews. Your responses will give us valuable insight into the GP perspective. We would be grateful if you could complete this survey.
Stevie McIntosh, Health Psychology PhD student at the University of Surrey, is conducting an online survey looking at GPs views towards prostate cancer testing. The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Upon completion, participants can opt-in to an optional interview. This study has received a full ethical approval from the University of Surrey.

From Workplace trauma to recovery: A WorkWell success story
For GPs supporting patients with workplace mental health challenges, here's how WorkWell made a difference for one participant.
After experiencing workplace bullying at his local council job in early 2024, Kamran found himself struggling with severe mental health issues and lost confidence. Despite attempting remote work with various recruiters, he struggled to regain his professional footing
WorkWell's approach – focusing on both employment and wellbeing – proved transformative. Working with Work and Health Coach Mica since October, Kamran found the support he needed. Their professional relationship, built on transparency and a blame-free culture, allowed honest discussions about employment barriers.
Key success factors:
- Personalised support rather than generic job placements
- Recognition that recovery isn't linear
- Gradual confidence building through supported job applications.
Professional guidance in "corporate language" and employer engagement.
Kamran's progress demonstrates how combining mental health support with employment services can help patients rebuild their professional lives after workplace trauma. He's now actively applying for roles, with growing confidence in his abilities.
For GPs: Consider WorkWell referrals for patients struggling with work-related mental health issues, especially those needing a supportive transition back to employment.
