Welcome

Welcome to our community update. This is NHS North West London's newsletter for local community and voluntary groups.

Please help us by sharing the relevant content in your community newsletters and email updates aimed at your members and residents. You may also use this wording in social media posts. Images and some campaign materials in different languages are available on our resources page.

Keep colds at home

We have seen an increase in people attending emergency departments with colds.

Emergency departments are for life threatening emergencies only.

If you of a family member has a cold or flu, get well at home and help prevent the spread to others. You can also still get a flu vaccination from a local pharmacy or GP.

If you need help or advice with your symptoms NHS 111 can assess and direct you to the right place for you. Call, go online or use the NHS App nhs.uk/111

More advice on staying well this winter can be found at www.nhs.uk/live-well/seasonal-health/keep-warm-keep-well

Join us for access to general practice events

We’ve been listening to your experiences of accessing general practice services in the eight boroughs we cover in north west London.

Over 100,000 people gave their views in a public survey in Autumn 2024. The survey – which was developed by NHS North West London together with local GPs and patient representatives - was aimed at all residents and patients in Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hammersmith and Fulham, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea. We have now analysed the responses and are ready to discuss the findings.

Please join us at one of our two public events on Thursday 6 February 2025 where you can find out more about what residents and your local groups told us, and what the next steps are.

Face-to-face session

This event takes place at 2.30 – 4pm at Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way Wembley, London, HA9 0FJ

Please register your attendance in advance. The event is capped at 60 attendees.

Online session

This event takes place at 6 – 7.30pm. Register your attendance online.
