New Chief Executive Officer for North Central London and North West London Integrated Care Boards announced

Frances O’Callaghan has been announced as the Chief Executive Officer for North Central London and North West London Integrated Care Boards (ICBs).

Frances has now begun the role as CEO of North West London ICB, while continuing in her position as CEO of the North Central London ICB – which she has held since 2022.

The new joint CEO role was put in place to enable the two ICBs to work towards a formal merger in April 2026 as part of a move to deliver cost savings, become a highly effective strategic commissioner and continue to deliver for local people.

The merged organisation, which will be called West and North London ICB, will be the largest in England - covering 13 London boroughs and serving a population of around 4.5m people.

The news comes following the recent appointment of Mike Bell as the new Chair for both organisations.

Book your seasonal vaccinations now for protection this winter

Flu and COVID‑19 can be serious for many people. Getting your seasonal vaccinations helps top up your protection and reduces the risk of becoming very unwell. It’s best to get vaccinated as soon as you’re invited, so you’re protected through the colder months when virus rates can be at their highest

What to expect

  • The NHS will invite people most at risk first. You may get a letter, text message, or an NHS App notification. If you think you might be eligible, you can also book yourself.
  • Flu vaccinations have started for some groups (September), with more people becoming eligible from 1 October 2025. The COVID‑19 autumn programme starts on 1 October 2025.
How to get vaccinated
Who this is for (in brief)
  • Older people, pregnant women, carers, and people in long‑stay care will be invited.
  • Children are offered the flu vaccine, often through schools or their GP.
  • Those aged 18 to under 65 with certain long‑term health conditions (check who is included on page 13 of the NHS booklet) may also be eligible.
If your immune system is affected by a condition or treatment, you’ll usually be invited directly. Please don’t worry if you haven’t heard yet - invites are being phased. You can still check with your GP practice or local pharmacist.

Compassionate care for all: strengthening adult community specialist palliative care in north west London from October

More at‑home support, and longer hours of fairer, more consistent palliative care across north west London will be starting in Hillingdon, West London, Hammersmith & Fulham, Central London and south Brent.

From October 2025, NHS North West London will begin the phased rollout of  compassionate care for all and the new model of adult community specialist palliative care (CSPC). The first phase extends the availability of community specialist palliative care teams to 8am–8pm, seven days a week, and strengthens “hospice at home” support—so more people with complex needs can get the right help earlier, in the comfort of familiar surroundings. Further phases will follow over the coming months.

A news story explains what is changing.
