Transition of North West London professionals site to West and North London GP website

Following the launch of our new organisation, NHS West and North London, work is underway to harmonise systems across the legacy ICBs.

As part of this, the NHS North West London website – which hosts both public-facing and professionals content - will remain live until 31 March 2027. The public-facing North Central London website will be archived on 30 June 2026.

Professionals’ content from the North West London website will be safely migrated to the North Central London GP website, ensuring continuity and a single access point for clinicians. This is an interim arrangement that will ensure that clinicians can continue to access all relevant information on a single platform.

Clinical leads will shortly be asked to review content within the North West London professionals site to ensure critical information is retained. The harmonised West and North London GP website is expected to go live in August 2026.
Recognising PCN achievement in 2025/26

We are pleased to share a letter (PDF) from Javina Sehgal, Director of Primary Care, Genevieve Small, Medical Director of Primary Care; and James Cavanagh, Borough Medical Director (Hammersmith & Fulham), recognising the outstanding achievements of PCNs across north west London in delivering the Enhanced Services programme during 2025/26. We extend our sincere thanks to all teams for their continued commitment to high-quality patient care.
Commissioned community pharmacy bank holiday opening hours

Community pharmacies are not required to open on bank/public holidays, therefore all London ICBs have commissioned a bank holiday opening service.

Please find attached the list of community pharmacies (PDF) which are open for the commissioned bank holiday opening service. Please note there will also be other community pharmacies which are open on bank holidays, however these are not part of the commissioned service and are opening voluntarily. Also, there may be some pharmacies on the list which are open longer than those listed on the attached list, the hours in the PDF are the hours they are commissioned to open on bank holidays.
New pelvic health physiotherapy pathway

A new direct access referral pathway to specialist pelvic health physiotherapy is now available for female patients with urinary incontinence, overactive bladder and pelvic organ prolapse. Delivered by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, the service supports timely access to care and aligns with NICE and NHS North West London guidance. It is based at St Mary's and Charing Cross Hospitals. A document (PDF) contains further information about making a referral.
Support London-wide NHS campaign to reduce medicine waste - resources for GP practices to use

NHS West and North London has teamed up with the other London ICBs and NHS London to run a campaign that encourages patients to only order the medicines they need and help reduce waste.

Nationally it’s estimated that unused medicines cost the NHS £300 million every year.

Please support the campaign by using our resources to promote the key messages to patients in your practice.

Resources include:

  • key messages sheet
  • A4 poster
  • A3 poster
  • digital screen signage
  • website banner.

North West London Integrated Care Coordination Hub: Supporting urgent and emergency care

The North West London Integrated Care Coordination (ICC) Hub is a single hub operating seven days a week, coordinating an urgent and emergency care response for patients based on their condition. Hosted by London Ambulance Service, it brings together a multidisciplinary team of senior clinical decision makers providing rapid access to remote clinical consultation, advice and guidance. The Hub supports improved patient outcomes, reduces unnecessary conveyance to ED, and helps optimise access to community services. It also enhances access to patient records, supports referrals to appropriate services, and ensures timely, appropriate communication with primary care on patient care and follow-up. Find out more on their Powerpoint slides.
Mount Vernon Cancer Centre: Ask patients to share their views on travelling to the centre

Located in Northwood, the centre provides non-surgical specialised cancer care and treatment for people across west and north London and beyond.

The NHS is seeking people's views on travelling to the centre via a short survey, whether they have used the service or not. The feedback will help inform future travel plans for specialised cancer services.

Please pass on the message and display the poster (PDF) on your patient facing notice boards and other channels.

Further details on the changes and proposals is available on the Mount Vernon Cancer website.

Share feedback by Sunday 17 May 2026.

Education and training

GP contract 2026/27 webinar recording: Increasing digital registration uptake

You can now watch the webinar recording on YouTube, where Dr Shanker Vijay navigates London practices through what the GP contract 2026/27 covers in relation to the NHS England online ‘register with a GP Surgery’ service. The session also highlights how to optimise its use, alongside updates on auto-registration and the ‘manage patient registrations’ portal.

Pan‑London infection prevention and control learning event

A free pan‑London infection prevention and control (IPC) learning event will take place on Wednesday 17 June 2026, 1 - 4.30pm via Teams. The session will cover key topics including antimicrobial resistance, sustainability in IPC, the role of IPC link practitioners, antimicrobial stewardship, as well as hydration and oral care. It is being delivered collaboratively by London ICSs and local authority public health teams. Register via Microsoft Forms.
Cardiac renal metabolic (CRM) training programme

This training equips HCAs, practice nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver proactive, personalised, integrated CRM care — identifying risk early, empowering patients to own their health and working as part of the neighbourhood team.

Practice team members can sign up via the Central London Healthcare (CLH) Training Hub.

Communicating the Fit for the Future: Interprofessional training to strengthen collaborative practice in primary care and neighbourhood health

This training is designed to develop fundamental communication skills that support effective, therapeutic relationships across primary care and neighbourhood / integrated teams. It focuses on building strong, inclusive communication to enable joined-up working, support prevention-focused care, and help teams respond to the wider determinants of health within their local populations.

Participants will gain practical skills to communicate and collaborate confidently across organisational and professional boundaries, strengthening relationships between primary care, community services, local authorities and the voluntary, community and faith sector. The programme also supports interprofessional collaboration and shared decision-making, while helping participants identify and address common barriers to effective communication in both healthcare and community settings.

Aligned with the NHS Fit for the Future agenda and the 10-Year Health Plan for England, this training encourages reflection on individual roles within neighbourhood teams and highlights how effective communication underpins integrated care delivery.

Sign up via the CLH Training Hub.
Transgender healthcare in primary care training

CLH Training Hub offers CPD-accredited training programme to support one of the most underserved patient groups - transgender and gender-diverse individuals. Their transgender healthcare in primary care training is designed to equip staff with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to provide safe, respectful, and person-centred care for trans and non-binary patients. As you may be aware, transgender healthcare is an increasing priority for the RCGP and CQC, and this training offers a valuable opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to inclusive practice.

The sessions are led by Dr Joanna Lovett, a salaried GP in Central-Westminster, in collaboration with Dr Tara Suchak, Service Director for TransPlus Clinic at 56 Dean Street and HIV/GUM Consultant. If you would like to find out more or book a session, please email the team or visit their website. Please feel free to share this with colleagues who may be interested.

Is a lack of English or Maths not quite adding up?

If you have staff who feel a little divided when it comes to confidence with numbers or communication, this could be just the support they need. CLH Training Hub is offering functional skills training to help colleagues build confidence, sharpen their skills, and progress with ease - because when the basics click, everything starts to add up. Help us join the dots by registering your interest on the CLH Training Hub.
